Bangladesh has reported one more death from dengue in the 24 hours leading up to Wednesday morning, bringing the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to nine this year.
During the same period, 32 new patients were hospitalized with viral fever, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the new cases, one dengue patient was admitted in the Dhaka North City Corporation, while nine others were hospitalized in the Dhaka South City Corporation.
Currently, 196 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.
In 2023, dengue claimed 1,705 lives, marking it as the deadliest year on record, with over 321,000 reported cases.
