National healthcare database soon

DHAKA: Son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and also her Information and Communication Technology (ICT) affairs adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy said that ‘National Healthcare Database’ will be launched soon in the country to ensure quality healthcare.

Joy came up with the assertion while speaking as chief guest at Regional Health Informative Conference in city’s Ruposhi Bangla Hotel on Tuesday.

He said that the government is going to introduce a national healthcare database where the information of the mass will be stored to let the doctors know about them.

Everyone has got a national identity card by which the problems will be detected. A health card will also be given to everyone to assure the health issues of the people, he added.

Every service will be availed and digitalized by 2021, he hoped adding that Bangladesh will be a role model in the world with the grace of information technology.

Joy also mentioned that the other developing countries are seeking technological assistance and training from Bangladesh.

According to him, the government has taken several successful initiatives including mobile healthcare, e-health, information services and so on.
