Coronavirus infection on the rise, but we're not afraid: Zahid 

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque said, "Coronavirus infection is on the rise, we are worried a bit but not afraid."

He made the remark at the signing ceremony of the annual performance agreement with the heads of departments and agencies under the health services department at the meeting room of the health ministry of the secretariat on Wednesday (June 29) in the capital.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque said the developments of our hospitals are ongoing. There are not many patients in the hospitals currently. Hospitals are fully equipped to treat Covid patients.

Everyone should go to the office, school and market places wearing masks. I hope people will follow these instructions, said Maleque.

The minister said that government vaccination programs are ongoing. Once we get vaccine for the children, we will start vaccinating children between the ages of 5 and 12 by the end of July.

Secretary of the Department of Health Services Dr. MD.L. Awlad Hossain Hawladar presided over the meeting.

Health Education and Family Welfare Secretary Saiful Islam Badal, Director General of the Department Prof. Dr. Abul Basar Khurshid Alam were also present at the event.
