The country reported 251 fresh dengue cases in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning (Aug 31), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 203 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 48 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 675 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals of Dhaka while 109 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 6,181 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 5,376 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, 21 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Dhaka till August 31 this year.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
