DHAKA: Senior BNP leader Mirza Abbas’ wife Afroza Abbas Sunday deplored that valuables, including mobile-phone sets, were stolen during raid on their house by law enforcers during hartal troubles.

“Even my mother-in-law was not spared from the attack and police detained at least 70-80 people during the attack while at least 50-60 were injured,” said the BNP women’s front leader.

The complaint came from a press conference arranged by the leader at her house at Shahjahanpur in the city.

“The law enforcers, including RAB members, broke into the house through the main gate and vandalized the valuable goods in the house. They also attacked my family members and workers of the house,” she said in the allegation.

She also said police and Rab personnel attacked the leaders-activists when they brought out a peaceful procession in protest against Mirza Abbas’ arrest.

She further fulminated that leaders and activists of Chhatra League and Jubo League also joined forces with the law enforcers in the attack.
