KUSHTIA: A youth was chopped to death for alleged extramarital affair at Patikabari union in the district early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Zakir, 30, hailed from Mazila village of the same union.

CA Halim, assistant police super of Kushtia, said some 3-4 assailants led by Mohidul Islam chopped Zakir indiscriminately when he was watching world cup football at a tea stall on Mazila Bazar at about 3:00am.

Islami University Thana OC Mizanur Rahman said an extramarital affair between Zakir and Kazli, wife of Mohidul was the reason behind the killing.

A case was filed with Islami University Thana in this connection.
