One killed from chemical explosion

SAVAR: A chemical-drum explosion at a textile-printing factory in Ashulia left one dead on Saturday night.  

The deceased was identified as Ashraf Pramanik, 25, son of Abul Bashar from Goyeshyarpur village in Pabna district.

Ashulia thana source told banglanews24.com.bd that the mishap occurred while Ashraf, an employee of ND printing and embroidery factory at Modhyagazirchat village under Ashulia thana tried to open a drum filled with chemical using a drill machine.

The drum exploded and left Ashraf severely wounded.

Colleagues rushed Ashraf to Enam Medical Callege Hospital. The doctors on duty declared him dead.

Ashulia thana Officer-in-Charge Sirajul Islam informed that an UD (Unnatural Death) case was filled in this regard.
