Bomb charged on patrol police in Chuadanga

CHUADANGA: A police patrol team came under bomb attack allegedly by a group of extremists at Utholi of Jibonnagar upazila in the district on Sunday.

The attackers fled as police opened fire on them.

No casualty was reported.

Jeebanagar thana Officer-in-Charge Munshi Asaduzzaman told banglanews24.com.bd “A four-member patrol team led by ASI Tariqul Islam came under bomb attack at Begumpur-Utholy Charmatha area at about 10.30pm. Members of an extremist group charged the bomb.”

“Luckily there were no casualties as the bomb missed the target”, he added.

Later RAB and Police personnel raided the area. None was arrested.

Police could not identify the group, Munshi said.
