The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), in different operations in the last 24 hours till 6 am Monday (Oct 28), arrested 31 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.

Being informed, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, according to a DMP statement.

They seized 93 pieces of Yaba tablets, 300.30kg hemp and 11gm heroin, 750 litre local wines, 2 drug injections and one bottle Phensedyl from their possessions, it added. 

According to the statement, 16 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
