Members of Bangladesh Army detained two people last night at Hamidpur Bazar in Sadar upazila for allegedly impersonating members of the Detective Branch (DB) of Bangladesh Police.

The detained individuals were identified as Al Mamun, 44, son of Abdul Halim Master from Shamganj village, and Khairul Islam, 42, son of Jainal Abedin from Charpara village, both under Mymensingh district.

According to Major Zisanul Haider, second-in-command of the Netrakona Army camp, the army team apprehended them while they attempted to rob valuables and cash from passengers on a Dhaka-bound bus, named Saint Martin Paribahan, traveling from Netrokona.

The army team also recovered two unregistered motorcycles from the suspects.

The detainees and seized motorcycles have been handed over to Netrakona Model Police Station.
