The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), in anti-drug operations conducted across the capital in the last 24 hours till 6 am Tuesday (Jan 7), arrested 27 individuals for their alleged involvement in drug-related activities.
The operations, carried out in various areas of the city, resulted in the seizure of 22 packets of heroin, 860 bottles of Phensedyl, 1.741 kilograms of cannabis, and 744 pieces of Yaba tablets.
Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of the DMP's Media and Public Relations Division confirmed the matter.
A total of 16 cases have been filed against the detainees under the Narcotics Control Act.
