War-crime tribunal to show Jamaat trio arrested anytime: Kamrul

DHAKA:  The International Crime Tribunal will show the arrested top leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami arrested in war-crime cases, said State Minister for Law Advocate Kamrul Islam Friday, scuttling the other view that it’s not right now.

He said the inquiry into the 1971 war crimes is going on thought it is taking time. “Once the trial begins, it will not take too much time.”

The state minister for law, justice and parliamentary affairs said the government has plugged the wholes in the laws and taken in hand the trial of war criminals.

He hoped that the trial of war criminals could be started soon and would be finished within this year.

Kamrul Islam made the definitive statements while speaking at a discussion meeting on “War criminals and present politics” organized by Bangabandhu Academy at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity.
