DHAKA: The Mawa-Kaorakandi channel that was closed for dredging will be opened within a week.

Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan Sunday told journalists that a dredger would reach there in a day or two.

“Dredging of necessary points of five emergency channels will then take place as required,” he said.

The five emergency channels are-Mawa-Kawrakandi, Paturia-Daulatdia, Dhaka-Barishal, Paturia-Baghabari and around Dhaka.
