HABIGANJ: Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal general secretary Amirul Islam Khan Alim and seven other leaders of the student wing of the opposition BNP were briefly held here by RAB “mistakenly”.

Hafez Khan, Sub-Inspector of the RAB-9, told banglanews24.com.bd that the eight were taken in the camp for interrogation on suspicion.

They were going to Moulvibazar from Habiganj after a political programme when RAB personnel intercepted them, JCD sources said.  

All of them were set free after an hour of detention as RAB sources said they were held by mistake. “We had intelligence that some suspects were taking this route at this very time,” one of the RAB men was quoted by a central JCD leader as telling Alim.
