Dubai factory fire kills 4 Bangladeshis

DHAKA: A total of 11 workers including four Bangladeshis were killed when a perfume factory caught fire in Dubai on Tuesday, sources said.

Of them six were Indian and one was Pakistani citizen.

The incident occurred when fire gutted the Afnan Perfume Factory in Dubai’s Kuj industrial areas Tuesday midnight.

A Bangladeshi citizen was identified, among the four, as - Abdul Kader.

Mohammad Abu Jafar, Consul General of Bangladesh in Dubai, told banglanews24.com.bd on Wednesday that he had heard news of death of four Bangladeshis.

“The workers used to sleep at night in the factory,” he said.

He said Bangladesh consulate officials visited the spot as well as the hospital.

Mohammad Jafar, Directorial General of Middle Asia affairs of the foreign ministry, confirmed the news.
