DHAKA: A Dhaka court Thursday summoned Deputy Commissioner of Metropolitan Detective Branch in a case that was filed for providing ‘false and untrue’ information from a press conference.

Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hassan Talukdar asked Deputy Commissioner Md. Monirul Islam to appear before the court on August 30.

Choitanna Chandra Halder, President of Dhaka Court Reporters Association, filed the case with Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on Thursday.

A total of 12 Journalist of the associations were the plaintiffs of the case.

Halder alleged that the DC on Wednesday told journalists that the charge-sheet of a case on suicide of a mother and her two children in Jurain was submitted to the court.   

The case Investigative Officer Sheikh Mahbubur Rahman submitted the charge-sheet on Thursday with the court.
