Housing problem to be solved by 2015: Commerce Minister

DHAKA: Commerce Minister Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) Farukh Khan Sunday said the government would ensure housing facilities for all the people by 2015.

“The government will build ‘Growth Centre’ in union and upazila levels for rural people, as the government wants to build modern housing industry in the country,” he said.   

The Minister held out the assurance at a programme organized by Bangladesh Thai Aluminum (BTA) on its 30th anniversary held at a hotel in the city. Jahid Malek MP, chairman of BTA, presided over the programme.

The Minister also said to meet the growing demand for accommodation the local organizations, especially BTA, have to make a big contribution in future.

REHAB President Nasrul Hamid MP, ENA property Chairman Eng. Enamul Haq MP, BTA Vice-Chairperson Rubana Hamid, Professor of Architecture Department of BUET Dr M Shahidul Amin and BTA Director Sabana Malek, among others, also addressed the programme.
