A six-year-old child killed by strangulating in city

DHAKA: A six-year-old boy, the only child of his parents, has been cruelly killed through strangulating in the city’s Nabadoy Housing area under Adabor Thana.     

The deceased was identified as Khandaker Samiul Azam, 6, a student of a kindergarten school and son of KR Azam, a chemicals trader hailed from Pangsha upazila of Rajbari district.

Abir, Samiul’s paternal uncle, said, “Samiul was the only son of Azam. He went out of home for playing Tuesday and had been missing since then.”

His body was found in Nabadoy Housing area on Thursday morning.

“We filed a general diary with Adabor Thana on the day and today police recovered the body,” he said.
 
Sub-Inspector Sabbir Uddin of Adabor Thana said, “We found the body at around 7:45am beside the boundary wall of a building.”

Police sent the body to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Morgue and police sources suspected that Sumiul might have been strangled.

The bereaved family filed a case with Adabor Thana in this connection. Police could not arrest anybody till the filing of the report.
