Man kills brother in Satkhira

SATKHIRA: A schoolteacher was allegedly stabbed to death by his younger brother at bordering Goira village in Kalaroa upazila Friday night over a family feud.

The dead is Shah Alam, 38, a teacher of Hizaldi Secondary High School in the upazila.

Kalaroa thana OC Enamul Haque said Shah Alam had an altercation with his brother Nazmul Alam over a trifling matter at about 11:30pm.

“At one stage of the quarrel, Nazmul stabbed his elder brother Shah Alam indiscriminately with a sharp knife, leaving him seriously injured,” said an eyewitness account of the attack.

Shah Alam was rushed to a doctor in Goira Bazar where he succumbed to his injuries, the source said.

Police recovered the body and sent to morgue for autopsy.

Victim’s wife Nazma Sultana filed a case with the respective police station accusing Nazmul.
 
Police said they could not arrest Nazmul as he fled to India at the same night.
