Khaleda demands to disband RAB khaleda Zia

DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia has demanded to disband elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) for its controversial activities.

The BNP chief came up with the demand while talking to journalists after she met with the family members of missing BNP leader Sajedul Islam at his residence at Nakhalpara in the city on Saturday night.

She said, “Rab was formed during BNP regime to protect people’s life and property. But now, the force is being used to serve political purpose. It engages itself with various criminal activities.”

Khaleda firmly said, “So, I demand to disband the elite force as it has failed to serve its duty properly.”

The former premier questioned to the government that how much body does it wants more.

She also demanded immediate to get back of all kidnapped people.

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam, standing committee member Tariqul Islam and Dhaka City BNP convener Sadek Hossain Khoka were among others present on the occasion.
