GAZIPUR: Local unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) called daylong hartal for Monday in Kapasia upazila of the district demanding release of the upazila Awami league general secretary (GS) Anisur Rahman.

The announcement came from a press release singed by the upazila unit BCL president Aminul Islam Darji and GS Jahirul Islam on Sunday evening.

On Sunday, the district court sent 10 people, including Anisur, a former BCL president of the upazila, to jail rejecting their bail petitions after police produced him before the court.

Police arrested them following an infighting of the party at the upazila on the day that left 10 people injured.
