DHAKA: After postponement of grand rally at Supreme Court premises amid police obstruction, Nationalist Ainjibi Forum shifted the rally venue to National Press Club premises in the city on Saturday. 

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia joined the rally. Speakers at the rally denounced the police action that foiled the rally at the Supreme Court.  

Earlier in the day, the lawyers’ rally at Supreme Court was foiled as law enforcers put bar, locked all the gates, and detained 15 lawyers from near to rally venue.

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Ahmed Azam Khan, Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, Naraynaganj District Unit BNP President Advocate Taimur Alam Khandaker among others joined in the program.

Earlier, Supreme Court Lawyers Association called the grand rally, protesting the kidnappings and killings across the country, interferences on judiciary and killing of Narayanganj Bar Lawyer Advocate Chandan Kumar.
