LAXMIPUR: An activist of Juba League (JL), associate body of ruling Awami League, was slaughtered by miscreants in Bashikpur area under Sadar upazila of the district early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Roman Hossain, 22, son of Nurul Islam and resident of the area.

Family and local sources said that, a gang of armed miscreants abducted him from his house at 4:30am. Later, his slit-throat body was found in the area around 6:30am.

Being informed from locals, police rushed to the place and recovered the body and sent to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

However, police sources said that Roman was charged in several cases.

Sub-Inspector of Dattapara Police Outpost Wahiduzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
