FENI: A district court on Monday placed Fulgazi upazila Chairman Ekramul Murder mastermind Awami League leader Jahid Chowdhury on 8-day remand for police interrogation.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Khairul Amin granted the remand around 4:00pm when investigation officer produced him before the court with 10-day remand plea. 

Jahid also pronounced about some people who were related in the murder.

Abul Kalam Azad, Officer-in-Charge of Feni Sadar Model Police Station confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Earlier, the law enforcers conducted a drive in the town on Sunday and arrested Jahid when he trying to flee riding a CNG-run auto rickshaw.

Arrested fellows of Jahid admitted that he collected the pistols and supplied those, Shiplu gave training to run the arms and Abid shot the upazila chairman.
