Bashundhara Kings dominate Wanderers to top group

Bashundhara Kings secured a 5-0 victory against Dhaka Wanderers in the Federation Cup, becoming group champions and advancing to the play-off stage.

In the match held at the Rafiquddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh, Kings took an early lead in the 17th minute. Miguel Figueira Damascena capitalized on a defensive error by Wanderers to score with a precise diagonal shot after receiving a quick pass from Mojibur Rahman Jony.

Kings doubled their lead in the 40th minute when Sohel Rana struck a powerful low shot from just outside the box, narrowly evading goalkeeper Saiful Islam. The team went into halftime with a two-goal advantage, leaving Wanderers struggling to recover.

In the 55th minute, an own goal by Wanderers extended the lead to 3-0. Kings continued their dominance as Sohel Rana and captain Tapu Barman added two more goals within seven minutes, sealing a convincing win and the top spot in Group A.

Meanwhile, Brothers Union secured their play-off berth with a goalless draw against Bangladesh Police FC at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Stadium in Cumilla. The result eliminated Police FC and dashed Fortis FC’s hopes of advancing, as Fortis relied on a Police win to retain their group lead.

Brothers Union also qualified for the play-offs from the same group.
