Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) leaders said the association is working to bring all gold traders under one umbrella to prevent smuggling and establish transparency and accountability in the jewelery business.

Central leaders of BAJUS remarked on these at a view exchange meeting organized by BAJUS Sherpur district branch on Friday (OCT 21).

The event was held this afternoon at Shaheed Abdur Rashid Memorial Academy Auditorium on Shaheed Bulbul Road in the city. 

BAJUS Central Committee Co-Editor and District Monitoring Committee Vice President Masudur Rahman were present as the chief guest.

Central committee executive member and BAJUS standing committee district monitoring committee member Pabitra Chandra Ghosh, executive committee member Kazi Nazneen Hossain, and member Chandan Kumar Ghosh were present as special guests.

Co-editor of BAJUS Central Committee Masudur Rahman, said BAJUS is working on creating a database of gold traders across the country. BAJUS is now leading the gold business toward industrialization. Many industrialists are becoming interested in the gold business.

Urging all the gold traders to take membership of BAJUS, he said, otherwise, if any gold traders are harassed, BAJUS will not take responsibility for them.
Acting president of BAJUS Sherpur district branch Shahjahan Mia and joint secretary Abdur Rafiq Majid, general secretary of district committee Sushil Malakar, and gold traders from nearby districts and various upazilas spoke among others.
