BAJUS president wants to unite gold traders under common platform

Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) President and Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir wants all gold traders to be united under a common platform.

This was said by central leaders of the organisation at view exchange meeting with Habiganj unit leaders and stakeholders on Saturday.

Leaders also cautioned against any incident of exploiting customers in the name of selling gold ornaments at cheap rate.

BAJUS under the new presidency has made 55,000 members from across the country so far, they said.

“He (Sayem Sobhan Anvir) wants all gold traders to run their business safely and transparently. So, BAJUS will make sure that nobody exploits customers in the name of selling products at cheap rate.”

They said BAJUS will start supplying gold to the jewellers in the middle of the next year to boost transparency in the sector.  

BAJUS vice-president Gulzar Ahmed attended the programme as the chief guest while treasurer Uttam Banik, member of executive committee and member secretary of standing committee on law and membership Reponul Hasan, Md Aslam Khan and member of standing committee on district Nihar Kumar Roy were present.

Samir Chandra Banik of Habiganj district committee presided over the event which was moderated by Bijoy Banik Diju.

BAJUS members from nine upazilas attended the view exchange meeting and brought out a colourful rally.

Finally, a new committee in the district was formed with Samir Chandra Banik as president and Bijoy Banik Diju general secretary.
