Traders incurred huge losses due to the massive fire in Bangabazar in the capital ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival of the Muslim community.

At the same time, they also fear whether they will be able to start a new business in the place of the burnt shop.

However, many of the shopkeepers and businessmen have set up shop on the street now.

Many of the traders who have been affected by the fire are in panic whether the real shopkeepers will be able to take their shops or someone else will take it over.

Traders said that they are concern regarding how to start a business quickly and they want quick rehabilitation. Business leaders also agree with their demand.

On the other hand, many businesspersons have set up clothing shops on the sidewalk with their scars ahead of Eid.

Earlier today (April 8) morning, it was witnessed that hundreds of trader’s already sit in shops in wooden blocks under the flyover on the south side of Bangabazar, which was burnt by fire.

Many traders were sitting with the clothes which were to save from the fire. However till now, there is no crowd around the shops and the sales were not gain momentums.

Earlier on April 7, the massive fire at Bangabazar Market was finally doused, more than 75 hours after it broke out early on April 4.

The fire originated around 6:10am on April 4 at Adarsha Market of Bangabazar Shopping Complex, burning several thousand shops to ashes.

Earlier on April 6, a case was filed against 250 to 300 unidentified people for attacking and obstructing the police during the fire in the capital's Bangabazar.
