Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) on Saturday demanded the arrest and exemplary punishment of those who were involved in the murder of a jeweller in Lakshmipur.
The miscreants on a motorcycle stabbed a gold trader, Hira Lal Debnath, to death while he was heading home on a bicycle in the Kazir Dighir Par area on Friday.
BAJUS leaders have condemned the murder incident and demanded to identify those involved in the killing of Debnath, proprietor of Matri Jewellers.
“The trade body demands quick arrest and exemplary punishment. We wish for strong intervention of the administration in this regard,” read the statement signed by BAJUS General Secretary Badal Chandra Roy.
BAJUS also demanded necessary steps to ensure the overall safety of the country’s jewellery companies and gold traders.
