The price of gold has been reduced again in the domestic market on Tuesday (Nov 12).
The price of 22-carat gold, has been reduced by 2,519 taka per bhori (11.664 grams), setting the new price at 136,189 taka.
This decision to lower the price was made during a meeting of the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring today.
A notification signed by the committee's chairman, Masudur Rahman, was issued, stating that the new prices will take effect from Wednesday.
Similarly, the price of 21-carat gold is lowered by Tk 2,403, bringing it to Tk 129,995 per bhori.
For 18-carat gold, the price has dropped by Tk 2,065 to Tk 111,426, while traditional gold will cost Tk 91,411 per bhori after a reduction of Tk 1,749.
In addition to gold, the price of silver has also decreased.
The price of 22-carat silver has been reduced by 117 taka per bhori (11.664 grams), bringing it down to 2,624 taka. The price of 21-carat silver has been lowered by 128 taka, now costing 2,496 taka per bhori. The price of 18-carat silver has dropped by 93 taka, and is now priced at 2,146 taka per bhori. The price of traditional silver has decreased by 70 taka, with the new price set at 1,610 taka per bhori.
