DHAKA: Revenue deficit in the first 10 months of current budget is around Tk 5,500 crore.

Sources from the National Board of Revenue (NBR) told the matter to banglanews on Wednesday.

NBR has collected Tk 79,224 crore as revenue in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year against their target of collecting Tk 84,892 crore, sources added.

NBR amended the revenue budget of 2013-14 Fiscal Year to Tk 125,000 crore from their target of collecting Tk 136,000 crore as Tk 10,000 crore was the deficit till February, 2014. 

NBR chairman Golam Hossain said it would be possible to cover the revenue deficit within next three months.
