DHAKA: Finance Minister AMA Muhith said there would remain the scope for whitening black money in upcoming budget, which is set to be announced on Thursday afternoon.

The finance minister came up with the assertion while addressing an interview at a national daily.

Muhith, also the ruling Awami League lawmaker, said, “The existing opportunity of whitening black money would continue in the budget of the fiscal year 2014-15.”

The minister also said that according to income tax act giving fine anyone can whiten their undisclosed money.

Finance Minister AMA Muhith is set to place the budget, which will be the 8th as the finance minister, for the fiscal year 2014-15 at 3:30pm. 

The size of the budget 2014-15 is likely to be Tk 2.50 lakh crore as the finance minister pointed out earlier.
