ADB grants $3m to Bangladesh for Covid-19 vaccine

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved additional USD 3 million in grant assistance for the procurement and supply of Covid-19 vaccine in Bangladesh.

ADB’s Dhaka office made the disclosure through a press release on Tuesday.

According to the release, Bangladesh government and ADB signed an agreement in this regard.

Secretary of the Economic Relations Division (ERD) under the Ministry of Finance Fatema Yasmin, and ADB Country Director Manmohan Prakash signed the agreement.

Manmohan Prakash said ADB is very pleased to provide the assistance as Bangladesh will utilize the grant money to collect and use the Covid-19 vaccine.

Even though the coronavirus situation in Bangladesh is under control, supplying vaccines to people will help reviving the economy in full force. This grant will play an important role in reducing the Covid-19 influence on health and economy, he added.
