Toggi Shipping commissions first cargo ship

The first vessel manufactured by Toggi Shipping and Logistics Limited (TSLL) has been commissioned recently.

By launching the ship, TSLL, a concern of Bashundhara Group, has opened up a new era in local logistics operations as local engineers demonstrated their excellence in shipbuilding.

The cargo vessel --MV Rania-6, sailed from Langalbandh of Bandar upazila in Narayanganj district after TSLL chief operating officer Khairul Bashir Khan inaugurated the commercial vessel recently.

Bashundhara Multi Trading Chief Operating Officer Mirza Mujahidul Islam was also present on the occasion, according to a press release issued on Wednesday.

Some 12 coaster lighter vessels are under construction by Toggi Logistics Ltd. Once completed, this will be largest fleet of naval logistic transportation system in the country.

Each vessel has the capacity to carry 2,000 metric tonnes of cargo, featuring automated unloading conveyer belt system.

Some six vessels are being manufactured at the Bay-Tech ship builders at Langalbandh while others are being built at TSLL's own shipyard in Keraniganj.

The vessels will carry logistic freights from Kutubdia port to all riverine routes of the country.

The TSLL started its journey in 2016. The company began constructing MV Rania-6 in February 2021.

Regarding the launching of the first ship of TSLL, Khairul Bashir Khan said shipping services have becomes major factors in logistics management as around 80 percent of international and local trades are being conducted through waterways.

“And Toggi Shipping and Logistics started the journey to provide logistics support to businesses,” he said.
