The government has reduced the price of bottled soybean oil by Tk 14 per liter to Tk 185.

Commerce Ministry Senior Secretary Tapan Kanti Gosh said that the government took the decision to reduce prices of edible oil in domestic market in line with the reduction of prices in the international market.

The new price has been fixed after consulting the business community today. The new price will be effective from tomorrow, he said.

However, the government has also decided to reduce the price of palm oil by Taka 6 per liter to stand at Taka 148 from the existing Taka 154.

The new price of per liter loose soybean has been fixed at Taka 166, while the price of five litter soybean jar has been fixed at Taka 910, said Tapan.

Tapan also informed that the consumers would continue to get the benefit in the future if the price of edible oil continues to fall in the international market.
