Bangladesh Bank has directed to halt evening banking activities in a bid to save electricity.

The Banking Regulations and Policy Department of the central bank issued a notification in this regard and sent it to top executives of banks for immediate effect Tuesday.

The notification said evening banking activities will be closed until further instruction.

According to the instruction, the decision has been taken in line with the changes in office hours for saving energy.
