Bangladesh’s electronics giant Walton is currently exporting ‘Made in Bangladesh’ labeled Television sets to over 30 countries after meeting the local demand.

With successful market expansion in the European countries, Walton has been exporting TV sets to different EU countries including Greece, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Ireland.

Senior Executive Director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC. and its TV’s Chief Business Officer (CBO) Mostafa Nahid Hossain said that Walton is going to start the TV export to the market of the United States of America soon.

He said: “Walton registers a total of 37% shares in the Bangladesh’s TV market. We are emphasizing our TV export and since last two years, we are getting massive response from around the world in this regard. Walton is advancing its brand promotion activities to become one of top brands in the world soon. This move is also brightening Bangladesh in the world arena with exporting televisions.”

He adds: “Walton is going forward gradually after its successful start of production in 2008 and has registered a huge growth in exports after 2019. Walton has exported its TV in more than 30 countries from 2019 till date with getting huge response from the EU nations. Walton is now regularly exporting TV to nearly 12 countries in Europe and surprisingly those nations were the buyers of China. They are now keen to take products from us instead of China. Our exports growth is 149% in 2020-21FY and that is a huge achievement against our start in 2019.”
Saying Walton’s main target is to become a top global brand, Mostafa Nahid Hossain also reiterated: “We are relentlessly working with this aim and we have ensured the presence of Walton brand to various countries till now. Previously, we have manufactured products as OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) for other companies but now Walton is giving priorities on its own TV brand.”

“Our next year’s plan is to capture the USA market and we are going to exhibit our products in the upcoming CS fair in the USA. We are going to be one of the top global brands by 2030, if everything goes as plan. We are working to reach this target so that people can understand that Walton means- Made in Bangladesh,” Nahid expresses their confidence.

He said: Walton has been receiving overwhelming response in TV exports since its inception and we will reach to the goal before the targeted time, if the government provides us 15 to 20 percent cash support in exports. With this government assistance, we will also be able to beat China in the American market as well. We are going to start exporting our products in the USA market from next January when TV will be the beginner. And later we will export all sorts of products gradually to the USA market and will get huge remittance from them.

Mr. Nahid also said: We have extensive plans to reach our target by 2030. We have started our TV export journey in 2019 with Germany as the first country. Now we have 149% growth in this market and our international standard products are behind this great success. We have gained this milestone because the Europeans have depended on our strengths. The durability of our products is much higher than other countries as we ensure different types of testing certifications during the exports.

The Walton TVs CBO said: Now we are experiencing huge challenges than we have faced in COVID-19 emergencies. The world is now facing crucial Russia-Ukraine war with extensive and frequent dollar crisis. Amid those global crises, various countries have already cancelled the export order they have made previously. But we are expecting something good in the coming days against this hard time as the FIFA World Cup, ICC World Cup, Christmas and New Year are knocking at the door.
