Dhaka University (DU) for the first time has introduced a shuttle bus service for its students.
The service, launched on a trial basis, will operate for the next three months.
The Vice-Chancellor of DU, Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan, inaugurated the shuttle bus service on Thursday (Nov 28) in front of the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building.
Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor said the service was introduced to ease students' mobility on campus despite limited resources.
He congratulated everyone involved in implementing the initiative.
The service will operate with three non-AC minibuses from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on three designated routes.
The routes are:
Kobi Sufia Kamal Hall – Amar Ekushey Hall – Shahidullah Hall – Curzon Hall – Mokarram Bhaban – Science Annex Bhaban – TSC – Kala Bhaban – Mall Chattar – Nilkhet Mor.
Nilkhet Mor – Mall Chattar – Business Faculty – Lecture Theatre Bhaban – Modhur Canteen – Central Library – Charukola – TSC – Institute of Nutrition and Food Science – Curzon Hall – Kobi Sufia Kamal Hall.
Kobi Sufia Kamal Hall – Amar Ekushey Hall – Shahidullah Hall – Curzon Hall – Mokarram Bhaban – Science Annex Bhaban – Jagannath Hall – S.M. Hall – Fuller Road – Mall Chattar – Nilkhet Mor.
