Two killed in Barguna ambulance-motorcycle collision 

A motorcyclist and a passenger of an ambulance were killed in a collision between the vehicles at Amtali upazila in Barguna district this morning.

The accident happened around 6:00 am in Amtali Doctor Bari area on the Patuakhali-Kuakata regional highway in the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Motorcycle driver Rubel Sikdar, 35, son of Ansar Sikdar, a resident of Soula village in Amtali upazila and Puspa Begum, 65, a resident of Gendabari village under Kalapara upazila.  

According to locals, a Kalapara-bound ambulance, carrying body of Puspa Begum's son, collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction in the area, leaving the duo dead on the spot. 

On information, police recovered the bodies and brought those to the Amtali Police Station.

Kazi Shakhawat Hossain Topu, officer-in-charge of Amtali Police Station, confirmed the matter. 

The bodies will be handed over to the deceased's families after completing legal procedures, he also said. 

The vehicles were seized, the OC added.
