Leguna driver stabbed to death by muggers at Rampura

A Leguna driver was stabbed to death in an attack by muggers at Rampura Bridge on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Md Hasan, 22, a resident of village Matibhanga in Barishal’s Bhandaria upazila. He used to live with his family in Dhaka’s Hatirjheel area.

Another driver Nurey Alam (23) was injured in this incident.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost in-charge Md Faruk said that Hasan was brought to the hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead at about 11:00pm.

The body was kept at the hospital morgue and the incident was reported to the concerned police station, he added.

According to injured Nurey Alam, Hasan was stopped by muggers at Rampura Bridge on his way home.

The muggers stabbed Hasan with a knife and ran away as he refused to give his money and mobile phone to them, he said.
