Former Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md Atiqul Islam was arrested from Mohakhali DOHS area today (Oct 16) evening.

DMP's Media and Public Relations Department Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the matter.

Atiqul Islam has been arrested from Mohakhali DOHS area of the capital based on a specific complaint, official added.

Atiqul was accused in many cases filed with several police stations after the fall of the Awami League government on August 5.
