A bus carrying passengers overturned and fell into a canal at Meradia in Dhaka’s Banasree area on Saturday (November 30) evening.

A total five people injured in this incident, Khilgaon police station OC Md Daud Hossain said. 

Fire Service and Civil Defence control room duty officer Rozina Akter confirmed the matter. 

Firefighters were alerted to the matter around 5:45pm, she said 

“A bus of Alif Paribahan overturned and fell into the canal at Meradia. The police informed us about the matter to salvage the vehicle,” Rozina Akter added.

Two firefighting units rushed to the spot, Rozina added.
