Anti-discrimination students, citizens to launch nationwide campaign

The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, in collaboration with the National Citizens' Committee, has announced a nationwide campaign to promote the July Declaration.

The campaign will run from January 6 to 11.

Hasnat Abdullah, convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, shared this information at a press conference held today (January 4) at the organization’s central office in the capital.

National Citizens' Committee convener Nasiruddin Patwari, spokesperson Samantha Sharmin, central executive committee member Saleh Uddin Sifat, and key organizer of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Abdul Hannan Masud.

Hasnat Abdullah, at the press conference, said that the campaign will reach every district across Bangladesh over the six-day period.

Activities will include distributing leaflets about the July Declaration, organizing rallies, and engaging with the public at various levels.

“The mass uprising led by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has seen participation from people of all walks of life. We aim to amplify the voices of marginalized communities,” he said.

Nasiruddin Patwari added, “The government must take visible initiatives without delay—either today or tomorrow. If our input is sought, we are ready to provide it. While everyone agrees on the declaration, there may be differences in perspective, but there is no objection to the essence of the declaration.”
