Job fraud: probe identifies 11 culprits in question leakage

DHAKA: The probe committee Sunday submitted report on the question leakage of secondary school assistant teacher recruitment test, identifying 11 culprits involved in the racket.

Committee chief Additional Secretary of the Education Ministry SM Golam Faruque submitted the report to Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid.

The report carries the names of BG press compositor Shahidul Islam Fakir and ATM Mostafa, Binder Labony Begum and Hamidul Haq, Forma Proof Reader Abdul Jalil, Deputy Director Khandaker Mohammad Ali and Md Atiqul Islam of Rangpur, Principal of Nilpahmari`s Kishoriganj Women’s College Mahfuzar Rahman, Satiar Rahman of Rangpur, Arif and administrative officer of Bangladesh Public Service Commission Abdur Rauf for involvement in the scam.

Police arrested all of them but Shahidul Islam Fakir and Atiqul Islam. The two went into hiding after the sensational scandal came to light.  

The probe committee made a 15-point recommendation for preventing recurrence of such heinous acts that allegedly perverts recruitment in many sorts of jobs.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said the committee ascertained that the question paper was leaked from the government press and they identified 11 persons as accused according to various information and evidences.

“It is not possible for us to find out the criminals. It’s the duty of Home Ministry," said the Education Minister.

He urged the Home Ministry to find out the criminals and take fit punitive action.

The minister informed the reporters that the Prime Minister ordered ensuring punishment of the criminals at the Deputy Commissioners` conference on Sunday morning.
