SHARIATPUR: Two people of a same family were beaten to death at Pachali village of Rambhadrapur union under Bhedorganj upazila of Shariatpur Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Rani Bala, 65, and Archana, 25, wife of Gautam Kabiraj.

Bhedorganj Thana officer-in-Charge Abdul Qaiyum told banglanews24.com.bd that Gabinda Kabiraj, resident of Pachali, beat up his aunty Rani Bala mercilessly with stick at around 10am. She died on the spot.

Besides, Gabinda also beat up Archana, wife of Gautam Kabiraj, when she came to stop him. Archana was also beaten to death on the spot, Qaiyum added.

The cause of the beatings is not yet known, he added.

Locals caught Gabinda and handed over to the Bhedorganj Thana police.
