Speeding car kills a paramedical student in city

DHAKA: A private car ran over and killed a paramedical student at Banani in the city Wednesday night.

The dead was Hafizur Rahman from Pabna, 18, a first year student of Mohakhali Institute of Health and Technology. He was a resident of Sharif Mohammad Hall of the institute.

Witnesses and Gulshan thana source said that Hafizur was crossing the road of Chairman Bari at around 10 pm when a speeding car ran him over and severely injured him.

Locals rushed him to Mohakhali Metropolitan Hospital. Later Hafizur was shifted to DMCH at 11 pm where the doctor on duty declared Hafizur Rahman dead.

Gulshan thana SI Habibur Rahman said that it was a hit and run. The speeding car crushed him and fled the scene quickly. The car or the driver evaded arrest.
The deceased Hafizur Rahman is the son of Pabna Sadar thana librarian Rawshon Ali.
