Bomb blast injures woman in the city

DHAKA: A woman was seriously injured in one of two bomb explosions at Arambag Club Para under Motijheel thana in the city on Tuesday night.

 The injured was Monoara Begum, 32, a sweeper of ‘Arambag Wonderers Club’. Both her legs were scorched from the blast.  

 Locals rushed her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Motijheel thana operation officer Mamun-ur-Rashid said, “The first bomb blasted in the Wonderers Club field at about 8.15 pm while the second one in front of Balurmath Mosque near the club at about 9.30 am.”

Witnesses said panic spread among the locals from loud explosions.

Police and RAB officials secured the Clubpara soon after the twin-explosions.

Motijheel Thana OC Tofajjal Hossain told bdnews24.com.bd that police rushed to the spot after the explosions and were investigating the matter. He suspects that the incident might have been centering distribution of gambling money.

Some local sources said some clubs in Arambag arrange gambling every night and chaos as such breaks out very often centering gambling money payout.  

Six days ago, terrorists blasted bombs and shot bullets in the same club field from where police seized 5 bombs and explosive materials.
