BANDARBAN: Two people were killed and three others injured as a truck plunged into in a roadside ditch at Mirinja in Lama upazila of the district early Friday.

The deceased were identified as truck driver Saiful Uddin, 28, and vegetable trader Jainal, 22.

Police said a Chittagong-bound vegetable-laden truck fell into a roadside ditch in the Mirinja tourist spot at about 1am, killing the two on the spot and injuring three vegetable traders.

The injured were rushed to the Upazila Health Complex. Later, one of the injured was sifted to Chittagong Medical Collage Hospital as his condition deteriorated.

Police recovered the bodies and sent to morgue for autopsy.
