Deputy Commissioner of the Detective Branch (south) Md Monirul Islam said a team of DB police raided Nazma Hotel at around 11:15 pm and arrested one Bangladeshi and eight Myanmar nationals.

The arrested persons are Md Yasin, 25, Abdul Kader, 32, Alam, 40, Rafiq, 20, Abdul Malek, 30, Shafiq, 21, Jannatullah, 18, Jane Alam, 23, and Rehana Akhtar, 18.

Monirul Islam said Yasin, a suspected human trafficker, is an inhabitant of Cox’s Bazar and the rest are Rohingya refugees brought from the bordering Teknaf area.
