Dwellers in the capital are suffering due to a heavy downpour since this morning (July 12), causing waterlogging in several areas.
The rains started in the early morning and continued till 10:45am.
Incessant rain since morning has caused waterlogging at Merul Badda, DIT project area, Mohammadpur, ECB, Malibagh, Shantinagar, Syedabad, Notun Rasta from Agargaon to Jahangir Gate, Khamarbari to Farmgate, Farmgate-Tejgaon truck stand area.
Apart from this, some parts of Shanir Akhra, Old Dhaka, Bangshal, Nazimuddin Road, Dhanmondi, Mirpur 13, Mirpur 10, Section 11, Shewrapara, Kazipara, Pirerbagh, Kallyanpur, some parts of Hatirjheel, Gulshan Lakepar area, various roads and alleys has caused waterlogging.
Meanwhile, the city dwellers are suffering due to heavy rains.
Due to the accumulation of water on the road, one has to pay double the fare to reach the destination. Still rickshaws and CNG are not available.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over four divisions, at many places over other four divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy rain falls at places over the country in the next 24 hours from 9 am this morning.
